YouTube Shorts enables new monetization option for creators

YouTube SHORTS is all about working smarter and not harder. Over the last 30 days, I have been busy uploading video content. What exactly are YouTube SHORTS anyway? Initially launched in ’21, YouTube Shorts are the short-form section of the video-sharing website YouTube, hosting content much like YouTube’s primary service but in a vertical format with a maximum length of 60 seconds.

Last year I shared with you why Facebook & Instagram REELS are important for you as a small business or personal brand. Enabling your brand to showcase both products and services you may offer through video content. The beautiful thing about REELS and now SHORTS is they both can be used similarly when uploading.

Three different platforms, same style, and format of video. Last summer I began my KEEP IT REEL campaign. Now I have been repurposing all that video content onto YouTube in the form of SHORTS. The best part about all of this for Fan Base Creators is that if you want to get monetized on YouTube, SHORTS have now become a second option.

This video of Deion Sanders below on Built Different Group has over 1.3M views.  On Instagram however only about 1400 views. Since I uploaded it on YouTube SHORTS last week it has just cleared 10K views. This same video I used Canva to create has 3 different results on 3 different platforms. You have to experiment for the best results.

Why YouTube Shorts are the future for NFL Fan Base Creators

For new Fan Base Creators entering the platform and those like myself that need the required 4,000 watch time hours on your original videos SHORTS have become a second option to supplement this process. Initially, you needed 1,000 subscribers and 4k watch hours in order to APPLY for monetization on the platform.

Now with YouTube SHORTS in order to pump the platform full of them, YouTube has allowed creators to get either or in order to APPLY for monetization. Here is a snapshot of my progress on the platform below. Notice how you either hit the required watch time or the new SHORTS option. It may look daunting, but one video can go viral and help you meet the requirement quicker than the 4k watch hours.

Here’s the catch. When it comes to SHORTS there is a 90-day period for you to meet the requirement. It starts on February 1st. Ultimately why I am sharing it with you here today. Now is the time to get ahead and ready to get those extra gym reps in. This is a dream come true for any NFL Fan Base Creator. Why?

The NFL recently struck a long-term deal with YouTube. The deal is valued at roughly $2 billion annually over the course of seven years. DirecTV had been paying $1.5 billion a year for the rights, losing about $500 million annually according to CNBC. In addition, offering creators the ability to monetize through memberships and other options like below.

Streaming this altogether

In addition to my Built Different Group efforts on Facebook last year now my focus is shifting to YouTube in ’23. Why? My plan is to get monetized this year and when the NFL’s ’23 season kicks off millions of NFL fans will flock to YouTube for its content. Knowing your audience is half the battle for creators.

For Fan Base Creators this smells like a ripe opportunity. Get your channels in order now and get ready for the BIG STREAMING RUSH. As a devout Canva user and ambassador, I’m able to create a single long-form video and upload it to 3 different platforms. Allowing my video content to efficiently be re-purposed with slight additions through graphics and text.  Work smarter, not harder.

It only makes cents to focus your efforts as a creator on YouTube especially if you love the NFL. Having options is also a good thing. Creating multiple streams of income between several social media platforms can be key in growing your bank account this year. Jump on the YouTube SHORTS bandwagon now and get in the game!

Conclusion

Are you a content creator on social media looking to expand your revenue-generating streams? be sure to subscribe to my blog today as I share my progress with you. Now is the time to take action with YouTube SHORTS. Don’t miss this golden opportunity as an NFL Fan Base Creator either. The NFL will draw in more users on the platform during the ’23 season as fans shift from traditional TV programming to streaming on their devices.

Get your fishing poles baited up and cast them out into the lake of YouTube SHORTS this year’s creators. Follow me on my journey and let’s both capitalize on what lies ahead. It takes vision to see trends and get ahead of them in order to capitalize. I plan to do just that. If you have questions or need more information contact me directly.

Im excited for creators who take this opportunity and leverage it not only for the sake of monetization but the chance to earn money while you sleep. Exchanging time for money will be a thing of the past in a few years. Social media platforms like YouTube want your attention and want you to stay in their applications as a result.

Let’s both work together this year. So we can not only grow our brand presence and reach online but our bank accounts in the process. If you learned something new here today be sure to subscribe to my blog when you submit your email below. Working smarter and not harder is a motto that I live by. Hopefully, you will too this year.
